Bio

The third album from ULTRATONE is a collection of songs that range from fun to poignant, to songs that could serve as theme songs for some of the greatest issues of the day, all the while keeping a slant which everyone can sing along to. With songs about peace, the environment, racism, love, and what it takes to fight for your life, singer/songwriter Joe Scheirich has seen what's most important to him and wants to shout it to the world. In the process, ULTRATONE has created their best album yet. Musically this album stays with you, with more to love in each listen. Lyrically and thematically, this album has moved even further ahead with a vision that can light a spark in every heart.
Joe Scheirich has many influences. Sure, when prodded, he'll rattle off some favorites: Jeff Buckley, Pat Metheny and U2 just to name a few, but as you listen to ULTRATONE, you hear a much wider range of influences than can be revealed in a top ten list. All of this translates into a band that can incorporate many styles, while retaining an unmistakable style of their own.
In the 90s, Joe and high school orchestra buddy/bass player, John Hulcher, made a big splash with their band, JOE'S REPORT. Locally and regionally gaining popularity, they released a couple of EPs and one full-length CD.
Joe and John went on to form ULTRATONE, solidifying the line-up with Mike McGinnis, a guitarist with a hard-rock background who's also well-versed in many different styles from rock to jazz, and Luca Bianconcini, a tasteful drummer and long-time band mate. These diverse musicians give ULTRATONE the ability to bring songs to life, whatever the musical style may be.
ULTRATONE is: atmospheric layers of sound, a powerful yet tasteful rhythm section, a fresh vocal style with a lot of dimension, and intelligent, hook-laden songwritting. Live, ULTRATONE shines with tight, emotional performances. You don't want to miss this band.
